Mythical Games announces NFL Rivals

The National Football League (NFL), NFL Players Association and blockchain gaming company Mythical Games have announced their upcoming collaboration, NFL Rivals, launching in 2023. NFL Rivals is a blockchain game that allows players to own, collect and trade NFTs from all 32 NFL franchises. The game will be developed for both desktop and mobile, and is expected to launch early next year.

According to a press release, the game will put the player in the role of team General Manager, allowing them to compete against other GMs with their constructed rosters. Additionally, users will be able to collect, own and trade NFTs with other players, fully utilizing the blockchain technology that powers the backend.

Before the official game launches, 32 limited collections of NFL franchise-themed NFTs will be released in a series of drops. NFTs in these collections will give owners access to special events, in-game rewards and other features. The date for these drops has yet to be announced.
