Bentley announces genesis NFT project

Bentley Motors is making its first venture into NFTs with an upcoming drop on the Polygon network. Scheduled for September of this year, the collection will be limited to just 208 individual NFTs, a number symbolizing the total production run of the iconic R-Type Continental vehicle that inspired the modern Bentley design.

The NFT will be uniquely designed by Bentley Design, and will offer exclusive access and rewards to holders. Bentley hopes that this launch will pave the way for a successful expansion into the Web3 space. The company plans to explore other digital platforms, including NFCs (non-fungible chips), online gaming, and other Metaverse applications.

The automaker chose Polygon as the blockchain for its project due to their carbon-neutral status. Polygon has pledged to go carbon negative by the end of 2022.
